Protected Parks and Natural Areas of the Province of León
Picos de Europa National and Regional Park in León:
It is located in the northwest of the province, in the Central Massif of León. It has an area of 12.6767 Ha. shared between Asturias, Cantabria and Castilla-León.
Regarding the regional part of the Picos de Europa, they are located in the southern part of the province, in the Porma and Esla river valleys. In this regional slope there are the Mampobre peaks and the Yordas and Gilbo peaks. In their highest and rocky areas, they represent formations of the karst glacial period.

Natural Space of Las Médulas
